The Tent Project C.I.C
Fostering Compassionate Community Support
We are a diverse and intergenerational grassroots community network, driven by kindness, support, and compassion. Our mission is to create a proactive and inclusive approach to community development, learning, business, cohesion, and well-being. Originally established as a women's group, we have evolved into a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) and are now transitioning into an inclusive outreach charity.
Our project is built on the belief that every individual matters and can contribute value when provided with a stable and supportive environment. We address vulnerabilities such as mental health, isolation, depression, loss, grief, abuse, and neglect by offering socialization, skills development, and leadership opportunities.
As our next step, we aim to establish a cooperative hub and networking center, cooperatively managed by our dedicated team of skilled volunteers. This space will serve as a cooperative cafe, housing the Red Tent Women's Pop-Up Kitchen and empowering youth through initiatives like the 'Purple Tenters' youth enterprise group. With a diverse program of both free and paid workshops, we aim to encourage connection, learning, purpose, and support for the most vulnerable members of our community.
