Top of the Charity Charts – MultiWebMarketing Release Charity Christmas Single for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice

A kind-hearted team at an award-winning website and marketing agency has let go of their inhibitions with the release of a comical Christmas charity single, to raise money for a special charity.

The company directors of MultiWebMarketing – based in Doncaster – left their pride at the door and stepped into character to produce a humorous music video to the famous Stay Another Day track by East 17.

Not only are the team’s best – and perhaps shameless – efforts spreading like wildfire across social media, they’re also doing a fantastic job to raise vital cash this Christmas for Bluewood Children’s Hospice, which provides children and young adults with alternative care to hospital in the final moments of their lives, as well as offering close support to their families.

Lewis Smith, who away from his role as Deputy Managing Director, played an integral part in the video, said: “As a team, we were inspired by the work of Bluebell Wood; the work the charity does is excellent and so this is our little way of helping to raise awareness.

“We know it’s hard in December with Christmas coming up and the cost-of-living crisis going on around us – but we appreciate every penny that people put forwards.”

An initial fundraising target of £1,000 has been set and all donations really do go a long way. £15 covers the cost of a play session, an amount of £48 pays for an hour of care and £115 affords families a session of bereavement counselling during the toughest of times. Most recently, the charity hosted a Christmas party for the children and their families, which included a spectacular experience at Santa’s grotto.

One of the charity’s regional fundraisers, Eleanor Hughes, said: “These kinds of events simply wouldn’t be possible without fundraising initiatives like this. As we know, Christmas is such an important time of year for creating family memories especially when you know it could be your last Christmas with your child as it is for some of the families we support.

“We absolutely love the video – we watched it together as a team in one of our meetings and there was a lot of laughter; we think they’ve done a great job.”

The challenge now is to make this video go viral. This is a task the MultiWebMarketing team relish – and they’re quite good at it too as they’ve proved by winning the best UK marketing agency of the year for the past five years.

Eleanor said: “We'd like to send our heartfelt thanks to MultiWebMarketing for their brilliant efforts- the single is fantastic, and has created valued awareness for us of the vital work the hospice does"

With the verdict on the video unanimously positive from everyone who has seen it, credit must go to the team’s Social Media and Advertising Team Lead, Lucy Gerrard, who filmed and edited the masterpiece together.

She said: “We wanted it to be fun and I thought the team did a great job because it’s quite a lot of pressure. It’s surprising how many people know the verses, but this becomes more difficult when you’re combining it with adding in comical elements like the dramatic actions – I think they’re all boyband wannabes really.”

This is the second consecutive year that the MultiWebMarketing team has marked Christmas with their authentic spin on a piece of music, after raising cash for homeless charity Shelter a year ago with a spirited rendition of Band Aid. Earlier this year, a selection of the staff also took on a 15,000-foot skydive in Scunthorpe to raise more than £2,000 for Bluebell Wood charity in the start of what seems to be a flourishing new partnership.

Now you can ensure this brave lyrical performance doesn’t happen for nothing – with donations welcomed to support those whose lives are sadly too short. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/multi-web-marketing5
