As Public Swimming Pools Close Across Britain, Doncaster Based Family Swim School Continues Investing Millions in Children's Water Safety
Go Swimstars bucks the national trend with the opening of Lincolnshire's first purpose-built learn-to-swim centre
While communities across Britain continue to lose public swimming pools, a family-run swim school based in Doncaster is investing millions of pounds to ensure more children have the opportunity to learn one of life's most important skills.
Go Swimstars, founded more than 26 years ago by mother and daughter Sue Fynney and Sara Pegden, has officially opened Lincolnshire's first purpose-built learn-to-swim centre, representing the latest multi-million-pound investment by the family business in children's swimming and water safety.
The new Lincoln centre joins the company's established facilities in Doncaster, where approximately 5,000 children learn to swim every week.
The opening comes at a time when many communities across the UK are facing reduced access to swimming facilities as rising operating costs, ageing buildings and financial pressures continue to place increasing pressure on public pools.
Despite those challenges, Go Swimstars believes every child should have the opportunity to learn to swim in a safe, modern environment designed specifically for teaching.

Based on Go Swimstars' National Curriculum assessment data, more than 97% of children achieve the required National Curriculum swimming standard within a 12-week programme, making it one of the highest-performing learn-to-swim programmes in the UK.
As concerns continue around childhood water safety, physical inactivity and access to swimming lessons, the company believes investment in dedicated learn-to-swim facilities has never been more important.
