Whyy? Change Celebrates 8 Year Anniversary

South Yorkshire-based training provider Whyy? Change, which recently relocated to Rotherham, is celebrating its eight-year anniversary. January 15th 2023 marked 8 years since Whyy? Change Limited (formerly TWA Lean Consulting Limited) was established.

This month, the team celebrated the business' achievements at Ego Mediterranean Restaurant in Sheffield.

Back in 2015, the CEO of Whyy? Change Ray Byrne, founded the company with a vision of transforming businesses. Ray’s passion for problem-solving, continuous improvement and people development has seen the company become a leading professional services organisation.

When asked about the 5-year vision for Whyy? Change, Ray responded: “In five years' time, we want to be four times as big. How? We will grow our own apprentices, we'll train them, multifaceted across the Whyy? Change division and Whyy? Unboxd.”

“The vision is to provide business knowledge & services to transform people and industry. I’d like to be recognised by our partners as the go-to place when they need any help on fixing their business, because if we can't do it, we will independently put them onto the right people that we trust.”

By 2020, Whyy? Change had secured their long-held status on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). Going on to recruit a Governance Officer, Emma Harrison, who has recently been promoted to the role of Managing Director, whilst becoming the World’s First Quality Practitioner Apprentice.

On her recent achievements, Emma said: “I was extremely proud of what I have achieved and to have hopefully set the bar high for future apprentices on this standard.”

Upon finding out the news of her promotion, Emma added:“I am excited to be appointed to the role of Managing Director where my focus will be on continuing to ensure all learners who come to Whyy? Change are developed, supported and challenged while having an engaging experience along the way.”

In 2021, Whyy? Change hired a team of highly skilled practitioners to deliver Leadership, Marketing, Quality HSE and Functional Skills training. Whilst also promoting their Marketing Lead, Matthew Trueman to Head of Communications. That year they were finalists for the Sheffield City Region’s Training Provider of the Year, and became partners with Bureau Veritas, a world leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification.

2022 saw Whyy? Change deliver its first CIPD qualifications and HR / L&D apprenticeship training courses, having achieved CIPD centre status in 2021. Whyy? Change was graded as a ‘Good Provider’ by Ofsted, finalists at the South Yorkshire Apprenticeship awards for ‘Training Provider of the Year’ and finalists for ‘Excellence in People Development’ at the Doncaster Business Awards.

Whyy? Change also launched its sister brand Whyy? Unboxd, the first ‘non-agency’ and ‘non-consultancy’ firm which provides businesses with impartial, honest and independent advice with integrity to drive meaningful business transformation with the aim of fostering long-term relationships with businesses who are ready to take their business to the next level.

After a successful year, in November Anne Wilson MBE joined as their Head of Business Growth to strengthen existing relationships and develop future business partnerships.
After an action-packed few years, Whyy? Change doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon in 2023, with their most recent announcement coming in the form of a new office move to the New York Stadium in Rotherham.

When asked about Whyy? Change’s goals for the next two years, Ray said: “We want to be a million-pound company in two years' time. But it's not all about the money. I want to be in charge of the SAS. I've got my team. They are the best at what they do and I want to make it the best place for them to work.”
