Shortlist revealed for the Doncaster Business Awards

Businesses across the region are recognised and celebrated for their innovation, success and spirit as they are shortlisted for this year’s Doncaster Business Awards, sponsored by Doncaster College & University Centre.

The Doncaster Business Awards is one of the most contested and prestigious business awards programme in the region. Each year, organisations of all sizes and from all sectors across Doncaster compete for coveted awards across categories including Green Business of the Year, Success through Innovation and Diversification and Excellence in People Development.

This year’s Awards come with a twist. New for 2020/21, four NHS Recognition Awards will acknowledge the contributions that NHS staff across the borough have made and continue to make throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.

Recognising the contributions that businesses have made to their communities, the 2020/21 Doncaster Business Awards will also feature Business Heroes Awards, to be peer voted on the night.

Despite the pandemic, this year’s awards attracted a record number of entries. Jade Dyer, Assistant Director of Services at Doncaster Chamber, said: “We are absolutely delighted to reveal the shortlist for the Doncaster Business Awards.

“We see this as testimony to the resilience and innovation of the local business community. There were so many wonderful entries that showed endless determination, spirit and enterprise.

“It is more important than ever that we take stock of our achievements over the past twelve months, and recognise and celebrate the accomplishments and hard work in spite of the ongoing turmoil.

“We are immensely grateful to our wonderful sponsors who have worked so hard to ensure we can deliver the awards during such difficult times."

Headline sponsorship comes from Doncaster College and University Centre. Kathryn Brentnall, Principal at Doncaster College said: “Doncaster College and University Centre are delighted to be headline sponsor for the Doncaster Chamber Business Awards for the third year running. Particularly, at this difficult and uncertain time, we know how important it is to continue to support and promote our local talented individuals and businesses. We look forward to the celebrations in March 2021.”

Lindsy James, Director of Active Fusion, said: “We’re stepping into 2021 with smiles on our faces. Active Fusion are finalists for the 3rd year running for the 3rd Sector of the Year and Business Engaging with Education awards.

“We are proud that our impact is being recognised and feel inspired about the difference we make. Thank you to the judges - this means so much to the team and everyone who supports our charity.”

Rik Courtney, CEO of Be More Social, said: “We are so honoured to be nominated for the Excellence in People Development Award and Marketing Campaign of the Year. Thank you to everyone at Doncaster Chamber, fingers crossed till March!"
