Businesses across the area have stepped forward in their droves this year to be recognised in the region’s annual business awards organised by the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber team have praised businesses for their resilience and tenacity over recent months and, despite the difficulties faced by firms in every sector, a record number have entered the awards.
Assistant Director of Services Jade Dyer said, “The business community has demonstrated incredible tenacity and resilience over the last nine months. The volume and quality of entries for the awards demonstrates the breadth and scale of the challenges that businesses have overcome to keep creating wealth and jobs in our borough.
“This acts as reminder that, ultimately, it is businesses and entrepreneurs that create growth, not governments. It is therefore imperative that Doncaster and UK plc. Are steadfastly business friendly in the journey towards economic recovery and that our borough particularly becomes increasingly recognised as a great to do business and where the achievements of business – large and small – are fully recognised and appreciated.”
Since launching over 20 years ago, the awards have grown in prestige and importance and become firmly established as one of the leading business awards not just in Doncaster, but throughout the whole of South Yorkshire. The awards recognise those organisations and leaders who have made the greatest impact on the area, regional and wider UK economy over the last 12 months.
Now in their 23rd year, the Doncaster Business Awards, will celebrate winners across 14 categories, including new categories; Green Business of the Year, Young Business Person of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.
This year the Chamber have also teamed up with sponsors ORB Recruitment to honour, recognise and celebrate the exceptional work of NHS staff throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
Honouring their selflessness, devotion, dedication and care, the Chamber will champion the unsung heroes, announcing an unsung hero, a community hero and awarding those who have shown an outstanding contribution and provided compassionate care over the recent months.
