(Railway 200) Doncaster Dry Gin / The Badger Give Donation to the Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery Volunteer Group

On Saturday 27th September 2025, Danvm (Doncaster) Dry Gin presented the Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery (FoHPC) volunteer group with a presentation cheque from the proceeds from the limited pre-release run of their Doncaster Plant Works gin edition.

Supported by The Badger Doncaster, all 100 bottles were sold, each having been signed by Patrick Stirling - the great, great grandson of the late Patrick Stirling; designer of the Stirling Single and first Locomotive Superintendent of the works who was laid to rest at the cemetery in 1895.

The presentation coincided with the FoHPC's 'Down The Line' event; a historic talk concerning noteworthy individuals connected with the railway industry laid to rest at the site as part of the Railway 200 centenary events calendar.

The FoHPC Group said "We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Danvm Dry Gin / The Badger for their incredibly generous donation to the Friends group, presented to us today at our Railway 200 guided walk.

They have kindly donated £5 from every bottle sold of their limited run of Doncaster Railway (The Plant) Works - Steam Locomotive Edition gin. This edition remembers Doncaster's rich railway heritage and the many connections between the Plant Works and the cemetery.

This donation, and all others we receive from our generous supporter , enables us to do important work as a very small voluntary group. Every penny goes back into the cemetery. Thank you!"
