Quality Specialist Upgraded to Chartered Quality Professional Status Offers Apprenticeship Support

Lynda Holbrey, Head of QHSE at Whyy? Change, has become the latest member of the Chartered Quality Institute's (CQI) chartered professional community.

The accolade, which is the gold standard for professionalism in quality, puts Lynda on an equal footing with other chartered professionals. Chartered Quality Professional status is awarded to professionals such as consultants, whose main focus is on quality. Members who achieve the Chartered Quality Professional grade, can use the postnominal ’CQP MCQI’.

To become a Chartered Quality Professional, you are expected to produce a number of evidence-based tasks highlighting your training, CPD, knowledge and competence in the Quality profession.

Lynda said: “Chartership is something that I’d been aspiring to my whole career and I couldn’t believe it when the email confirmation came through. Being part of the CQI community has always been rewarding, it’s always been a huge goal of mine to showcase my knowledge and experience. Professional status is the icing on the cake.”

Since launching A & L Leading Audits and Consultancy in 2019, Lynda has worked alongside a range of clients in South Yorkshire and the surrounding regions. In the summer of 2020, Lynda joined us as our Head of QHSE at Whyy? Change where she leads our Quality HSE courses and delivers Quality Practitioner apprenticeship.

Ray Byrne, CEO of Whyy? Change said: “Lynda Holbrey, Head of Quality has been a skilled practitioner for many years in Quality, Assurance and ISO, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Quality, but never had the time to progress to Chartered status. In 2021, Whyy? committed to supporting Lynda to work on and complete her application. The good news is that this was granted in July 2022.”

Lynda said: “I love teaching as it’s an opportunity to share my skills and quality management stories. At Whyy? Change, I have the joy of upskilling the region's aspiring quality professionals and my new chartership award demonstrates that learners are being taught by an industry experienced practitioner. Whyy? Change have encouraged me to start the application and supported me throughout some difficult times.

Ray shared his support, going on to say “We’re so proud of what she’s achieved and her energy here at Whyy? Change shines through. Her practical occupational health and safety knowledge and ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 knowledge is second to none.”
