Paws for Fun Day delights dog lovers at Lakeside Village
Dog lovers and their four-legged friends turned out in force at Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping recently, when Paws for Fun Day returned to the centre in Doncaster.
Following the success of its inaugural event last year, the charity celebration once again brought together local dog owners for a fun-filled day in support of Barnsley & District Animal Welfare (BADAW).
The event, which raised more than £700 for the charity, featured a dog show on the Lakeside Village lawns, with a new category for ‘Scruffiest Dog’ included for the first time, as well as free dog photography sessions.
Visitors also got the chance to meet Doncaster Rovers’ mascot Donny Dog and learn more about the work of BADAW.
Abby Chandler, deputy centre manager at Lakeside Village, said: “It was fantastic to see Paws for Fun Day return, welcoming so many dogs and their owners to the centre.
“The atmosphere on the day was brilliant and it was a real joy to see the community come together to support such an important local charity.”
Julie Moss from BADAW, said: “We had a wonderful day partnering with our good friends at Lakeside Village once again. The support from everyone who attended means so much to us and helps us continue our work caring for dogs and finding them loving forever homes.”
Lakeside Village is a dog-friendly centre, offering a range of facilities for owners and their pets including The Mutt Hutt – a space for dogs and their owners to take a break from shopping. Dogs are also welcome in several stores, with stickers displayed where relevant.
