Why Do One Thing?
This year's Mental Health Awareness Week theme is Action. At Doncaster Mind, we believe action doesn't have to be dramatic. Sometimes the most important action is the one taken early before things build up, before problems deepen and before support feels out of reach.
What can you do to support?
To take part, this week we're inviting people across Doncaster to take one early action for their mental health.
That might mean:
-
Starting a conversation
-
Booking an Appointment
-
Asking for help
-
Checking in with someone
-
Learning what local support is available
No matter whether your action this week is big or small, early action can change what happens next!
Your One Thing could be supporting others!
If you'd like to help make sure early support stays available locally, you can donate or stay connected with us by signing up to our newsletter or following us on our socials @doncastermind
Small steps now can make a lasting difference!
Action at Work starts early
In workplaces, action often means responding when something has gone wrong. But in mental health, action works best when it happens early:
- Early conversations
- Early check - ins
- Early support
You're Invited!
We're inviting workplaces across Doncaster to take one simple step this week: Host an Action Hour.
Action hour is a short practical conversation that helps staff:
- Reflect on their own wellbeing
- Learn where support exists
- Feel more confident starting conversations
This Mental Health Awareness Week some workplaces may also choose to support early mental health services locally through a team donation but the first action is simply creating space for you and your team.
