Paul Stockhill, managing director at Agemaspark said: “We are proud to have signed the Made Equal Employer pledge in a bid to encourage diversity in the workforce.
“Through the pledge, Agemaspark promises to actively promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees, regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity, or any other characteristic.
“Currently 11 of our team of 15 joined us from school or college as apprentices and this is something that we’d like to continue to see happen.
“As the industry evolves and new skills are needed for elements like 3D metal printing or handling digital components we’ll be looking to upskill and also to bring in people with new skillsets.
“We already dedicate time to attracting diverse talent into STEM related subjects, offer our time as mentors to students at Doncaster UTC and provide vital work experience to students wanting to find out more about working in the industry.
“There is always more than can be done and we will be looking at more ways to attract and retain diverse talent.”
Agemaspark recognises the importance of engaging with local the local community to build a diverse talent pipeline and actively participates in outreach programmes, job fairs, and career events, connecting with individuals from a range of backgrounds who may not have previously considered a career in manufacturing and engineering.
“There's an excellent career path for everyone in this industry, regardless of gender or ethnicity. It's all about design and innovation, which need everyone’s input to generate the best ideas,” added Paul.
