Highland Carbon Receives National Recognition

Doncaster-based, Highland Carbon, has been heralded by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) as an “inspirational Business, leading the way with green innovations and solutions.”  The visionary business was recognised alongside several other companies located across the whole of the UK.

Highland Carbon has become known as the pioneer in conservation-grade, UK climate projects.  Founded by a zoologist with experience in international conservation, it undertakes vast afforestation and peatland restoration projects in the UK which benefit rare and endangered species.  Highland Carbon has worked with more than a dozen large estates located in dramatic landscapes across Scotland.  Latterly, it has undertaken climate projects in Northern England: Northumberland and Lancashire.  A forestry project is currently planned to take place in the Yorkshire Dales.

The business supplies more than 60 companies in the voluntary carbon market.  Local clients include O&P Construction Services, SYNETIQ, Regus, VRMT and New Design Group.  It also supplies multinationals, including some of the largest buyers of carbon credits in the UK market.  In addition to supplying UK climate projects to company clients, Highland Carbon, also sources quality international projects from more than seventy countries across the globe.

During October, Highland Carbon received the award for ‘Best UK Carbon Credit Supplier’ for the third year in a row.  It is presently a finalist for the ‘2023 Green Business of the Year Award’ with the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce, and it was recently a finalist for a South Yorkshire Sustainable Business Award.  Managing Director, Richard Clarke, is currently a finalist for a ‘People’s Choice Award’ with the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce.
