Super Mario Movie Bounces Into Lakeside Village for Next Summer Cinema Screening

Box office hit ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ is set to be aired at Lakeside Village’s outdoor Summer Cinema this week.

The animated adventure film, which follows Mario and Luigi’s journey through the Mushroom Kingdom, will be screened twice at Lakeside Village on Thursday 10th August, with showings taking place at both 11am and 3pm.

Lakeside Village’s annual outdoor Summer Cinema is a firm favourite with families across the region, with popular films screened weekly every Thursday for free throughout the summer holidays.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie marks the second event of the season, following Encanto earlier this month. The next films to be shown will be Moana on 17th August, followed by Toy Story 3 on 24th August and The Secret Life of Pets on 31st August.

All films will be shown twice a day at 11am and 3pm.

Di Mellis, centre manager said: “The Super Mario Bros. Movie looks like so much fun and it was a real box-office hit when it came out earlier this year, so we can’t wait to bring it to our audiences this week, for free.”

Entry to the Summer Cinema is free and limited seating will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis. As such, people are encouraged to bring their own fold-up chairs.

Alongside the Summer Cinema, Lakeside Village is also putting on a summer-long schedule of free family fun throughout the holidays, from kids’ workshops to street food stalls and more.

This Saturday [12th August] sees the magical ‘Shed of Stories’ arrive at the centre, giving younger visitors the opportunity to join Alice in Wonderland and the Queen of Hearts for storytime.
