Working alongside Sheffield City Region, funding has been secured to support Doncaster home working, mobile and self-employed businesses that have suffered loss of trade because of COVID-19 and that have been unable to access any of the existing business grant schemes, primarily small and microenterprises.
Businesses that DO NOT qualify for any of the Government’s recent Covid-19 business support packages including the Self Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) are invited to apply for the latest discretionary grant payment.
Businesses in the qualifying criteria and have been adversely affected by local and national restrictions may be eligible for a one-off payment of £1,000 from the Council’s Discretionary Grant Scheme.
This grant scheme is being administered by Business Doncaster.
The scheme launches today (Friday 22 January) and is designed to support those businesses that have not qualified for any previous grant schemes including the SEISS and been severely affected by government restrictions.
Applications will only be considered from local, independent businesses that provide a business to consumer service and have been forced to close due to lockdown restrictions or those able to trade but are struggling because of a fall in trade. Business to business services such as accountants, financial advisors and consultants will NOT be eligible under this scheme
Full details of how to apply and the eligibility criteria can be found on the Doncaster Council website here: https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/doitonline/discretionary-grant-scheme-for-homeworkers-mobile-and-self-employed
Applying for the grant is straightforward and we urge small businesses to check the eligibility criteria and if eligible, get their applications in to the Council as soon as possible so we can process them quickly and deliver the support needed.
