New Branch Manager for Handelsbanken Doncaster

Local relationship bank Handelsbanken has appointed Natalie Simpson as Branch Manager for Handelsbanken Doncaster. Natalie, who brings with her over 15 years’ experience in banking, took up the reins on 10th February 2025.

Previously a Deputy Branch Manager in Wakefield, the appointment sees Natalie – who grew up in Doncaster – moving back to her home city. She has been with Handelsbanken since 2022, including two years as a Corporate Banking Manager at Doncaster branch. Prior to this she spent over a decade as a relationship manager with NatWest.

Handelsbanken, based in Richmond Business Park, is a fully-decentralised local relationship bank, which prides itself on offering a bespoke service to its customers. The bank’s business model is to empower experienced locally-based staff to make all decisions at a branch level. This means customers deal with people who know them individually by name, and who understand their business – and the local economy. This approach, for personal and business customers, has led to the bank consistently being independently-rated as the best UK bank for customer satisfaction by both the Competition and Markets Authority and European body EPSI – and being acclaimed as Europe’s safest commercial bank.

Natalie said: “I am delighted to be coming home to take up my position as the Manager of Handelsbanken in Doncaster. It is a real privilege to work with the fantastic team here, and to build on the brilliant work they have been doing – providing the best possible service to our local community. Handelsbanken is all about relationships; with our great customers, the local economy, and the city as a whole – so it’s handy that Doncaster in is my blood! We intend to go from strength to strength, continuing to help our customers achieve their aims, and I can’t imagine anywhere I’d rather do it.”
