National lockdown grant payments from 5 January 2021

Further to the Prime Ministers announcement of a national lock down from 5 January 2021, financial support is available to Business rate paying businesses who have been required to close.

The additional support includes a 6 week payment under the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) addendum for businesses required to close under the national lock down restrictions from 05 January 2021. Those same businesses will also receive a one off Closed Business Lock down support grant payment (CBSP) of up to £9,000 (depending on rateable value).

We are pleased to confirm that we have been able to automatically make these payments worth over £10.6m, to eligible businesses to whom we have already made grant payments to for the period up to 01/01/2021. These payments have been processed on the 14 January 2021. We ask that businesses allow 3-5 days for payments to reach their nominated bank accounts.

Any new applications made by businesses who have not previously applied, will continue to be considered for all relevant payments under this and previous schemes.

This scheme does not include businesses which are not registered to pay business rates, and who have previously received payment under the Additional Restrictions Support Grant scheme. Please continue to check our website regularly for any new schemes that may be announced.

If you have already received grant payments or have an application outstanding, please do not re-submit an application forms to request additional Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) grant payments as a result of the lock down from 05 January 2021, or the one off Closed Business Lock down support grant payment (CBSP) of up to £9,000.
