Lex Hygiene's Blue Whale SWS Launches ‘Give Back Plan’ to Restore Pride of Place for Doncaster Charities

Lex Hygiene has today unveiled a significant social investment initiative through its specialist commercial brand, Blue Whale SWS. The "Blue Whale Give Back Plan" will see 10% of all profits from commercial cleaning contracts dedicated to a fund that provides free professional exterior restoration for charities and community centres across the City of Doncaster.

The initiative is a direct response to the national "Pride of Place" agenda, ensuring that Doncaster’s vital community hubs often operating on limited budgets benefit from the same high-standard maintenance as the city's leading commercial developments.

By instructing Blue Whale SWS for their specialist surface restoration, Doncaster’s business community will now be directly funding the revitalisation of local charity shopfronts, youth clubs, and community centres at no cost to the voluntary sector or the taxpayer.

The "Give Back Plan" has secured the enthusiastic support of Lee Pitcher, MP for Doncaster East and the Isle of Axholme, and Sally Jameson, MP for Doncaster Central. Both MPs have championed the project as a model for how private-sector expertise can enhance civic pride and protect local heritage.

"Our community centres and charities are the backbone of Doncaster, but their buildings often bear the brunt of weathering and neglect due to a lack of maintenance funds," said Stephen Farr, Business Development Manager at Lex Hygiene. "The Blue Whale Give Back Plan ensures that these essential spaces reflect the pride we all have in our city. We are turning commercial success into visible, local impact."

The programme will utilise advanced, eco-friendly steam cleaning and soft-washing technology to restore building facades, stonework, gutters, windows and safety walkways. This specialist intervention helps to extend the lifespan of community assets while creating a more welcoming environment for service users.

Lee Pitcher MP commented: "I am delighted to support the Blue Whale Give Back Plan. It is a fantastic example of a local business taking the lead on 'Pride of Place' by investing their skills back into the community hubs that need them most."

Sally Jameson MP added: "Vibrant, well-maintained community spaces are essential for the wellbeing of our residents. I welcome this commitment from Blue Whale SWS to ensure our local charities have premises they can be proud of."

Blue Whale SWS is now inviting Doncaster-based registered charities and volunteer-led community groups to nominate their buildings for a "Give Back Refresh" via their website.

Blue Whale SWS is the specialist commercial exterior cleaning division of Lex Hygiene. Based in Doncaster, they provide high-specification pressure washing, Soft washing, cladding restoration, and stone cleaning for the commercial, industrial, and public sectors across South Yorkshire.
