Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people in Doncaster? Do you have the skills, experience and drive to help us navigate the next 50 years with confidence and success?
In your professional role, do you encounter older people who are struggling with financial pressures, care needs, or both, and who are unsure where to turn for help? Age UK Doncaster provides a range of local services, support and advice, and professionals can refer people to us when they need help.
We are seeking motivated and skilled people to join our Board of Trustees. This is an opportunity not only to contribute your professional expertise, but also to gain a deeper understanding of the services available to older people locally and to influence how those services develop in the future.

At Age UK Doncaster, our mission is to empower older people to live fulfilling lives with dignity, respect and independence. We provide person-centred care, support, information and advocacy to meet the diverse needs of older people in our community. Compassion, integrity and excellence guide the way we work.
Our CQC-regulated service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), reflecting the high standards of care and support we aim to maintain.
Who We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in hearing from professionals who can bring experience, insight and constructive challenge to our Board. We currently welcome expertise across a range of areas, including finance, health and social care, project management, marketing, communications and digital engagement.
• Finance and financial management – helping us maintain strong financial oversight, sustainability and resilience.
• Project and change management – supporting the development and delivery of important initiatives.
• Health, social care and person-centred services – bringing an understanding of the needs of older people and the services that support them.
• Marketing, communications and social media – helping us strengthen our profile, reach more older people and their families, promote our services, and build stronger relationships with supporters, partners and the wider Doncaster community.
• Professional and community networks – helping us strengthen connections across Doncaster and understand emerging local needs.
• Diversity of experience and perspective – helping our Board better reflect the communities we serve and bringing different viewpoints, backgrounds and ideas.
You do not need to have been a trustee before. What matters is that you can bring sound judgement, relevant experience, curiosity, commitment and a genuine interest in improving the lives of older people.
