Dolphin ICT: Employer of the Year Takes Team to Poland for Christmas
Christmas feels like a distant memory now, but the Dolphin team is closer than ever after our unforgettable Christmas trip to Poland. Earlier in 2024, we celebrated the news that Dolphin ICT was a finalist for the prestigious Employer of the Year award at the Doncaster Business Awards. What we didn’t anticipate at the time was returning home and a week later being announced as winners, making an already special trip even more meaningful.
Our first visit to Poland for a Christmas outing in 2022 left such an impression that it became a lasting topic of conversation among the team. So, when the opportunity came to plan another trip in December, we thought, why not go again? This time, our team had doubled in size, and we were excited to create new memories together.
The goal was simple: to give the team a truly memorable experience. At Dolphin ICT, we place our employees at the heart of everything we do, believing that a happy and connected team delivers exceptional customer service and greater productivity.
We arrived in Poland on a Friday evening and were thrilled to discover a beautiful Christmas market right across the road from our hotel. The festive lights and stalls were visible from our rooms, creating a magical atmosphere. Without delay, we headed over to explore, enjoying food from the market and later going to an Irish bar with live music on.
The next day, we split into groups to explore the town. Some of the team visited a war museum, while others went ice skating in the picturesque town centre. We also watched an ice sculpting competition and browsed the daytime market stalls. A few of us even took a ride on a giant Ferris wheel overlooking the Christmas market. That evening, we came together for a lovely team meal at a local restaurant before heading to a few bars—where, in true British fashion, we finished the night with some spirited games of Uno!
By Sunday, as we prepared to return home, we reflected on the laughter, shared experiences, and the new things we’d learned about each other. It was an incredible bonding experience that strengthened our connections as a team.
When we planned this trip, being a finalist for Employer of the Year was already an honour. The news of our win, received after the trip, was the icing on the cake. This recognition is more than an award; it’s a validation of our commitment to fostering a workplace where people thrive.
