The Crown Hotel in Bawtry is delighted to announce the internal promotion of Cai Johnson to run their brand new Robata Grill Restaurant.
Cai, 23, who was born and raised locally in Bawtry, joined the hotel in 2015 as a waiter in the hotel restaurant. Since then, Cai has moved up through the hotel to become restaurant supervisor and now has been promoted as Restaurant Manager.
Cai commented “I came to the Crown while I was studying at University as a part time job, but quickly knew that I loved the hospitality Industry. I love interacting with customers, getting to know regular customer is, and making our guests have a great time. Lockdown has been really difficult for our Industry, but the Crown has been busy with some great new food outlets ready for reopening on the 17th of May, and I am delighted to be promoted as the manager of the new Robata Grill Restaurant, and absolutely love food so this is the perfect role!”.
Craig Dowie Managing Director commented “We have been busy during lockdown working on the new restaurant concept, our new Terrace for alfresco drinking and dining and our new Café Express which is a takeaway. The restaurant has been rebranded as The Robata Grill Restaurant @ The Crown Hotel Bawtry and is an integral part of the hotel for both business and leisure guests. We are thrilled to be opening one of the first in the region right in here in Bawtry! ‘Robata’ refers to the method of cooking over hot charcoal which makes grills super delicious.”
He added “We needed a personality with experience to run the restaurant, and promoting Cai was the perfect decision. He is the epitome of hospitality – happy, smiley, and brilliant attention to detail and service. We are very proud of him and how he has grown over the years into this brand-new role and promotion!”.
