Charity of the year awards nominations 2026
Celebrating Active Fusion
Today, we’re thrilled to be meeting with Tim Wagstaff from Active Fusion, one of Doncaster’s inspiring charities and proud finalists for the Charity of the Year Award at the upcoming Doncaster Business Awards, hosted by Doncaster Chamber.
Active Fusion has long been at the heart of our community, empowering children and young people through the power of sport and physical activity. Their mission goes far beyond fitness it’s about helping every young person to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love for being active.
What truly sets Active Fusion apart is their passion for inclusion. They believe that all children should be involved, encouraged, and included, no matter their background or ability. Every child deserves the chance to take part, belong, and shine — and to feel valued and part of the group.
Active Fusion delivers a wide range of activities throughout term time and the school holidays, ensuring that young people have opportunities to stay active, connected, and inspired all year round. From school-based programmes and sports sessions to holiday camps and community projects, they create safe, supportive spaces where every child can thrive.
Alongside their incredible work with children and young people, Active Fusion also champions collaboration within the business community. They have a strong belief in the power of partnership and networking, helping local businesses connect and work together to make a greater impact. By building positive relationships between organisations, they’re fostering a culture of teamwork that benefits both young people and the wider Doncaster economy.
From delivering innovative programmes in schools to creating opportunities for disadvantaged and young people with additional needs, Active Fusion continues to make a real difference across Doncaster and South Yorkshire. Their dedicated team works tirelessly to help every child find joy and confidence through movement.
Today we’re excited to hear more about their latest projects, the lives they are transforming, and how their inclusive vision continues to grow. Being recognised as finalists in 2 categories not only Charity of the Year but also Marketing Campaign of the Year it’s definitely a well-deserved celebration of their commitment, innovation, and community spirit.
We wish Active Fusion the very best of luck at the Doncaster Business Awards and extend our congratulations to all the nominees who are making Doncaster a better, brighter, and more connected place to live and work.
