Celebrating 50 Years of Age UK Doncaster: A Call to Shape the Future
This year, Age UK Doncaster proudly celebrated an incredible milestone—50 years of dedicated service to the older people of Doncaster. For five decades, we’ve been at the heart of the community, delivering life-enhancing services and support, empowering individuals to live and age well.
At our anniversary celebration, our Chair Dr. Lis Rodgers reflected on this journey with heartfelt words:
“For 50 years, Age UK Doncaster has been a lifeline, a companion, and a champion for older people in our community. We’ve adapted and grown to meet new challenges, and as we look to the future, we’re more determined than ever to continue making Doncaster a place where everyone can enjoy later life to the fullest.”
Age UK Doncaster has always been about innovation and action. We’ve remained committed to meeting the needs of older people in a compassionate and impactful way. Our current services include:
Information and Advice: Offering guidance on issues such as the cost-of-living crisis, welfare benefits, and health and well-being.
Home Support and Home Care Services: Assisting with daily chores and providing professional care to enhance independence.
Dementia Support, Keep in Mind: Delivering specialized assistance to individuals diagnosed with dementia and their families.
Companionship and Social Inclusion Programs, Ageing Well at the SilverLink Centre and Circles Project: Addressing loneliness through initiatives which foster community connections.
These initiatives have positively impacted the lives of thousands, reinforcing the charity’s commitment to making Doncaster a better place to age.
