The Carr Fenton Foundation is marking this year’s Deaf Awareness Week with a business brunch at the Doncaster charity’s base on Leger Way.
The Deaf Awareness Business Brunch takes place 9.00am-10.30am on Tuesday, May 7 at Parker’s Café, the on-site training café run by students at The Carr Fenton Foundation’s college, Yorkshire Rose College.
The event will feature real-world insights into Deaf awareness and accessibility, interactive activities, and a group discussion on workplace challenges and solutions.
It is free to attend, with breakfast refreshments provided.
Natalie Pollard, British Sign Language manager at The Carr Fenton Foundation, said: “The brunch is aimed at showing businesses how they can support Deaf employees in practical ways, including advice on improving communication across their organisation and guidance on creative inclusive and accessible workplaces.
“It’s also a great opportunity to network with local organisations and help make a real difference for Deaf awareness in all walks of employment.”
The Carr Fenton Foundation was previously known as Doncaster Deaf Trust, which was founded in 1829.
