See first-hand the amazing careers and jobs on offer with a ‘through the keyhole’ tour
Agemaspark is throwing open its doors to various local schools and colleges as part of National Manufacturing Day on Thursday, 25th September 2025. Across the country, British manufacturing companies are giving their local communities the chance to see first-hand the potential careers and jobs on offer in this exciting and diverse sector.
Agemaspark has been part of the Doncaster community, for over 20 years, manufacturing components for a range of industries including aerospace for civil and military aircraft engines and power generation turbine engines, the Oil & Gas industry providing bespoke tooling aids, plastic mould tools for medical components, building products and caps and closure tooling for food industries, components on the International Space Station and some that went to Mars along with many more sectors. They assist many businesses in solving their engineering problems to produce many individual components for a wide range of sectors. The company has invested in 3D metal printing technology, which, when combined with conformal cooling technology in the manufacture of plastic caps and closures, is reducing cycle times by 20%.
Paul Stockhill, Managing Director, said, “We are delighted to be taking part in National Manufacturing Day and have the chance to show our products, processes, tools, and people. National Manufacturing Day gives us an opportunity to interact with students, teachers, and career advisors to visit our manufacturing facilities. As a growing company, we are continuously seeking innovative engineers to get involved and help us produce some ground-breaking products. We can offer opportunities from administration, CAD design, engineering, finance, HR, IT, product development, marketing and communication, production, research, and more.
“We can’t wait to meet our potential new employees and talk to the people who live on our doorstep about what we have to offer in a career that is both exciting and rewarding.”
Agemspark will be welcoming students from local schools - Kirk Sandall Junior School and Hungerhill Secondary School, as well as Year 13 students from Doncaster utc. They will hear about many of the innovative projects Agemaspark has been involved in and see demonstrations on lathes, milling machines, hole drillers, wire and spark erosion, learn about quality checks with the CMM inspection machine, as well as witnessing plastic and metal 3D printers in action. Each student will take away a personalised engraved tag as a memento of their day.
National Manufacturing Day has something for all age groups, from younger students making subject choices to school leavers and more experienced workers looking at the possibilities of a career in manufacturing. The national day of celebration will see companies giving their local communities, schools, and colleges the chance to understand more about the businesses on their doorstep.
Manufacturing covers a wide range of sectors, including aerospace, engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical, food and drink, defence, automotive, and renewable technologies.
Stephen Phipson CBE, CEO of Make UK, the manufacturers' organisation, said:
“National Manufacturing Day is growing every year and is where the diverse sector I am privileged to represent comes together to celebrate the innovations British companies make every day and showcase the careers on offer to people of all ages across the whole of the country.
“Our companies are at the forefront of technology development and global renewable design, and we hope this fourth National Manufacturing Day will encourage people who have never thought of manufacturing as their future to come along to see what it is really like firsthand. This is a highly paid sector that offers something for everyone. I started my career as an apprentice engineer, and it is a decision I have not regretted for a single day.”
