Active Fusion secures three-year National Lottery funding to support children and young people across Doncaster

Active Fusion has secured funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to help provide free activities and support for children, young people and families across Doncaster over the next three years.

The funding will support a wide range of opportunities including active holiday camps, sports leadership programmes and support for parents, helping children and young people make new friends, gain confidence and develop new skills.

The National Lottery Community Fund distributes funding raised by National Lottery players to support communities and projects across the UK, helping organisations make a positive difference locally.

The investment will enable Active Fusion to expand its community offer, initially across the north and south areas of Doncaster before scaling up across the borough in year three. Weekly sessions and holiday activities will provide safe, inclusive and free opportunities for more than 1,200 young people each year.

Active Fusion is a Doncaster-based children’s charity that uses the power of sport and physical activity to improve the lives of children and young people. Working across schools and communities, the charity supports young people to be more active, develop leadership skills, improve wellbeing and build brighter futures.

Suzy Broadhead, Head of Education and Communities at Active Fusion, said:

“We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work in this way. Thanks to National Lottery players, we can help more children and young people thrive and realise their potential. This funding will help them build relationships with others, strengthen connections to their local community and reduce isolation.”
