Active Fusion is bringing a new team challenge to Doncaster this September, with the launch of The Throwback Games on Friday 18th September 2026.
Taking place at Doncaster Athletics Track, The Throwback Games will give local businesses, organisations and teams the chance to step away from the office, get active and enjoy some good old-fashioned school sports day fun.
The event has been created to bring people together through friendly competition, teamwork and a healthy dose of nostalgia. Teams of five will take part in a series of classic school sports day-inspired challenges, putting their communication, teamwork and competitive spirit to the test.
From sack races and egg and spoon races to tug of war and other team challenges, The Throwback Games is designed to be fun, inclusive and accessible, with no sporting experience required.
Teams can enter for £20 per person, with each team made up of five people. Businesses can enter one or multiple teams, making it a great opportunity to bring colleagues together for an afternoon away from the usual working environment.
The event will also help raise funds for Active Fusion, supporting the charity’s work to improve the physical and mental wellbeing and life chances of children and young people across South Yorkshire.
Active Fusion uses sport and physical activity to create opportunities for children and young people aged 3 to 25, helping them develop confidence, skills and positive relationships with physical activity.
The Throwback Games will take place on Friday 18th September 2026 at Doncaster Athletics Track.
