About Us

Cast is proud to be the theatre for the people of Doncaster and beyond, believing in the creative potential of every individual and the power of the arts to transform lives. Our mission is to inspire and engage communities through a diverse, high-quality programme that fosters connection, removes barriers to access, and ensures everyone can participate.

Opened in 2013, Cast welcomes around 120,000 audiences each year and delivers a dynamic programme of presented and produced work, participation, and artist development. We engage people of all ages through workshops, events and productions, and support local and emerging artists through commissions, scratch nights and creative hangouts.

Our 620-seat main theatre and flexible second space host a wide range of music, dance, comedy, drama and family work, alongside small-scale touring productions. Through strong regional, national and international partnerships - including with the National Theatre and Royal Opera House, we present world-class companies alongside bold new voices. Guided by integrity, inclusivity and co-creation, Cast connects Doncaster with the world, with doors open to all.
