Description
Working together to ensure the best for Doncaster, the Chamber network and the local authority, Doncaster What’s Next: Your City. Your Say offers businesses the opportunity to participate in important conversation’s about where we are heading as a collective.
As outlined in our forward-looking vision, Doncaster ’35: A Manifesto for a Winning City, we want to raise the bar for Doncaster so that it can become a place where businesses thrive through increased access to investment, the brightest possible talent, a bustling urban core and much, much more. This, of course, is within the context of local and national economic challenges for the business community and the Chamber’s strategic partners.
The Your City. Your Say events offer you a chance to join a constructive dialogue with our city’s leaders and to have your voice heard on this issue. Hosted by Doncaster Chamber CEO, Dan Fell, the conversations will feature the likes of Mayor Ros Jones CBE, Chief Exec of Doncaster Council, Damian Allen, and various subject matter experts from the local authority.
In addition to this open forum, delegates will have the opportunity to network, while engaging with representatives and exhibitors from a range of departments across the council. Here, you will also be able to learn about what is happening next when it comes to key projects that will hopefully drive our city forward.
The topic for this session will be on the South Yorkshire Investment Zone.At this event, we will explore how Doncaster and its communities are set to benefit from being part of the UK’s first Investment Zone.
Building on our region’s heritage and strengths, the South Yorkshire Investment Zone will be focused on Advanced Manufacturing and includes the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. It is expected to help leverage more than £1.2bn of private funding, that will in turn create new skill and investment opportunities and help support more than 8,000 jobs by the year 2030.
Doncaster specifically has four opportunity sites here, including the City Centre, Unity Yorkshire, GatewayEast and Doncaster North. To find out more about the exciting developments in relation to the Investment Zone, and to have your own input in the conversation, make sure to attend this latest Your City. Your Say session.
