South Yorkshire Mayoral Hustings

In partnership with Sheffield Chamber, Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber, The Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Make UK and The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), we will be holding a hustings event on Friday the 19th of April. 

Taking place at Doncaster College, this is an opportunity for you to hear from those who are running to be Mayor of South Yorkshire (as well as Police and Crime Commissioner) later in the year.

The event will give aspiring candidates a platform to explain their respective visions, priorities and plans for the region, before then fielding questions from an audience comprised of local businesses. Meanwhile, for delegates, it's a chance to get to know your prospective mayors better so that you can make a more informed decision about who you would like to vote for come election day.

It’s vital that our region’s Mayor be attuned to the needs and wants of the local business community. After all, they will play an instrumental role in shaping South Yorkshire’s infrastructure and economy in the years to come. Now that they are also taking on additional Police and Crime Commissioner responsibilities, they will no doubt be instrumental in tackling other issues like antisocial behaviour, theft, and cybercrime as well.

With that in mind, this hustings event is a great opportunity for you to really get a feel for the prospective mayors and to make sure your voice is being heard by them too.
