Description
Essential training for personnel concerned with the control of stocks in retail, manufacturing, distribution or service environments. Material planners, analysts, buyers, production controllers, stores and warehouse personnel and manufacturing managers, will all benefit from the content of this course.
The course will demonstrate the importance of effective stock control to a business and its influence on customer service levels, working capital, cash flow, liquidity, efficiency, and profitability. The course examines in depth the theories behind the wide range of stock control techniques available and their practical application in the workplace.
Our course doesn’t just simply explain what re-order levels are, what safety stock is and how a forecast works, we show attendees how to calculate these essential inventory control elements which will enable the attendee to manipulate their computer system and apply these principles to their particular stock control situation. On completion of the course we provide each attendee with an Excel workbook which includes 5 spreadsheets containing the various formulae we have used on the course plus 5 blank spreadsheets set up so you can input your own data.
Expertise in Excel is not necessary. Some experience within the stock control function is desirable but not essential.
