\nDoncaster-based businesses are invited to attend a special business event on the Armed Forces Covenant. The Armed Forces Covenant is a UK-wide promise that ensures serving personnel\, veterans\, and their families are treated fairly and not disadvantaged because of their service. Its core principle is simple: those who serve our country should face no disadvantage in public or commercial services\, and in some case should receive special consideration &ndash\; particularly the injured and bereaved.
\n\nThis event will promote the benefits of signing the Armed Forces Covenant Sign the Armed Forces Covenant and make your pledge - GOV.UK with attendees able to hear from local Doncaster-based businesses on how they are supporting the Covenant\, and the business benefits. Attendees will also be able to meet local reservists and hear their experiences of combining working in local businesses with being in the armed forces.
\n\nEmploying ex-armed forces personnel gives businesses a measurable advantage\, with businesses benefiting from their skills\, experience and work ethic. Supporting employees to become reservists and cadet leaders can create opportunities for progression\, including leadership qualifications funded by the UK Ministry of Defence. This event provides a fantastic opportunity to learn about the Armed Forces Covenant\, network with local businesses that are already signatories of the Covenant and meet supporting organisations invested in ensuring that serving personnel\, veterans\, and their families are able to thrive here in Doncaster.
